On October 28 at 6 p.m., I will guide you past the most dangerous cinematic children during an Evil Seeds lecture (in Dutch) at the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest in Bruges, Belgium.
The event is free and will be followed by two "Evil Seeds" movies that I will also introduce: Richard Donner's The Omen (1976) and Max Kalmanovicz's The Children of Ravensback (1980).
I'm happy to announce that I'm part of the Young Blood jury at Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival this year. Their line-up features several anticipated movies, so check out their program here.
Tonight I'll be hosting a Q&A for the movie K-Shop at the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival. My guests are Dan Pringle (director), Adam J. Merrifield (producer), and Ziad Abaza (actor). Next Monday, I'll be hosting two Q&A sessions with filmmakers at the Razor Reel Flanders Film Festival 2015 in Bruges, Belgium.
The first Q&A is with writer/director Abner Pastoll for his movie Road Games.
Road Games takes place in sun drenched rural France where a hitchhiking duo becomes inexplicably entangled with a mysterious married couple and a local road kill collector.
The movie will be shown at 8 pm and the Q&A with Abner Pastoll will take place after the screening.
Here's the trailer.
Next up is the horror movie Excess Flesh at 10 pm, followed by a Q&A with director Patrick Kennelly. In Excess Flesh, Jill violently imprisons her roommate Jennifer in their apartment in a twisted attempt to bring them closer together. Have a look at the trailer.
I just spent five days at the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival where I hosted several Q&A sessions with filmmakers. Apart from those Q&A sessions, I also had to chance to see thirteen movies. Here's a little overview.
Friday
The Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival started on Friday with a fun film quiz hosted by Zeno Pictures and RRFFF.
I'll be hosting several Q&A sessions with filmmakers at the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival the following two weekends. Here are the trailers of the movies I will be talking about. Come by and say hello if you have the chance.
In 2011, the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival buzzed with The Dead, a zombie movie set against the open spaces of Africa. This year, the Ford brothers return with a sequel that takes the action to India and ramps up the action, violence, and drama. Directors Howard and Jonathan Ford will answer questions about their movie at their Q&A session on October 26.
Several years ago, Richard Stanley (Dust Devil, Hardware) had an inexplicable experience in the French locality of Montségur. Its impact made the filmmaker decide to return to the area and shoot a feature-length documentary about the esoteric mysteries there. I will host a Q&A session on The Otherworld on October 27 and will be joined by director Richard Stanley and composer Simon Boswell.
For more than a year, director Kate Shenton filmed several groups of people who pierce themselves with hooks and hang in mid-air from rigs. On Tender Hooks explores a wide variety of experiences and opinions on the subject and shows us how the human body can achieve extraordinary things. Shenton will be present for the screening and Q&A of her documentary on November 1st.
I'll be spending the rest of the month in Bruges to give an introduction to several horror movies at the Razor Reel Fantastic Film Festival RRFFF. Come and stop by if you're around. Here are the trailers of the films I will be talking about...
An agoraphobic father teams up with a renegade priest to save his daughter from the clutches of a gang of hooded feral children. Citadel director and screenwriter Ciaran Foy will be present for the screening and introduction of the movie on October 27.
A young actress seeking a life away from adult movies moves to Florida in search of a new identity. Her newfound piece is shattered when local thugs recognize her. A tribute to hard-edged rape revenge movies like I Spit On Your Grave. The main actress of Villa Captive, Liza Del Sierra (who is also a porn actress), will join me for the introduction of the movie on October 28.
"Steve's not dead. He's just a little bit zombie." Infected by a virus, Steve attempts to fulfill his desire for brains while trying to keep it together so as not the incur the wrath of his demanding fiancée. Director Casey Walker will answer questions about A Little Bit Zombie on November 2nd.
A 26-chapter anthology that showcases death in all its vicious wonder and brutal beauty. I will give an introduction to ABCs Of Death on November 3 and will be joined by directors Simon Rumley and Jake West and actress Lucy Clements.

Bruges is known for its attractive buildings and canals, but also for the Razor Reel Fantastic Film FestivalRRFFF. I had the chance to do a q&a for my latest story of survival horror, THE STRANGERS OUTSIDE, and the film that has been made out of it. Also present were director Philippe Geus, actor Pierre Lekeux, actress Iulia Alexandra Nastase, and one of the creepy monks from the story. It was the first time we showed some rushes of the yet unfinished film to the audience.
The Strangers Outside is the about two sisters who return to their remote holiday cottage after a day at the seaside. But little do they know they're being surrounded. Soon after their arrival, the girls will come face to face with THE STRANGERS OUTSIDE. When the assailants make their intentions known, things take a shockingly terrible turn and an intense battle for survival will begin.
