These lamps are a must-have for VHS fans

back to the future vhs

Do you feel nostalgic when it comes to VHS cassettes? I for one am still fond of these tapes and I have a huge collection I will never get rid of. One look at them brings back instant childhood memories.

As soon as I saw these decorative lamps made from old VHS tapes, I knew they were a must-have. If you have any VHS addicts among your friends, know that these VHS lamps would make great presents.

They can be used as a table-top night lamp if you want to read a book without disturbing your partner or to make the living room extra cozy for a movie night in.

The VHS lamps are available through UK-based Etsy seller Nancy Jars.

The cool thing is that each lamp is customizable. You can pick your front cover and choice of colored lights, and, when requested, Nancy Jars will use an original VHS for that ultimate retro feel (which I recommend you do).

If you don't have a particular choice, you can always pick one that is already available from the existing collection.

The lights inside the VHS lamps are battery powered LEDs, so they are heat resistant and safe.

Would you consider buying a VHS lamp? Which movie(s) would you pick?

  3. What a great and artistic up-cycle. I like that the LED colour is matched to the movie label.

  5. I would and for me I could see Grease or Pretty Women and for my son Top Gun and for my husband Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory so these may be what they get for Christmas as they are neat and usual which I like.

  9. I still have VHS tapes and a VHS player. Every now and then, I use it. I'll keep on using it until I replace my favorite VHS tapes with DVDs. :) Those are neat lamps, though!

  12. What an incredible and creative up-cycle. I like that the LED shading is coordinated to the film name.

  13. I kinda like these - but think they're best sorted to horror movies rather than the chic flick ones. Thanks for sharing with #PoCoLo
