BIFFF 2012

Like every year, I'll be moderating public Q&A sessions with several filmmakers at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF). Here are the movies I'll be talking about...

Bag Of Bones

Based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King, Bag Of Bones focuses on a novelist (Pierce Brosnan) who returns to a lakeside retreat in Maine to recover from his wife's sudden death. He not only becomes involved in a custody battle between a young widow and her child's wealthy grandfather but he also inexplicably receives mysterious ghostly visitations.

I will host a Q&A for this movie on April 12, 2012, and will be joined by Bag Of Bones director Mick Garris (Sleepwalkers, The Stand, Desperation, Riding The Bullet).

The Incident (Asylum Blackout)

In the horror thriller The Incident, a group of cooks in an asylum for the criminally insane get locked in with the inmates during a power cut and a massive thunderstorm. Director Alexandre Courtès will be present for the screening and Q&A of his movie on April 13.

Sennentuntschi - Curse Of The Alps

Sennentuntschi - Curse Of The Alps is a big budget horror movie from Switzerland based on an Alpine legend about three lonely herdsmen who were so starved of female companionship they built the girl of their dreams from a broom, some straw, and rags. Then the devil took pity and made Sennentutschi live and breath so she could cook, clean and look after them. But when the herdsmen started treating her like a common whore, the revenge she took was so horrific the locals still shudder to this very day.

The screening and introduction of Sennentuntschi - Curse Of The Alps will take place on April 6, 2012, in the company of screenwriter Michael Sauter.

Game Of Werewolves (Lobos de Arga)

After 15 years, an unsuccessful writer returns to his hometown Arga to get an award. However, he doesn't know the real reason why he is there: to end with an old curse that has been haunting the village for the last hundred years. Director Juan Martínez Moreno will join me for the Q&A of Game Of Werewolves on April 11, 2011.
